Judicial systems amongst Kenyan people groups were empowered by their communities to dispense justice, punish offenders and arbitrate over disputes. |

These judicial systems were the same committees that administered religious and cultural rites largely because justice, law, culture and religion were closely intertwined. Many communities had different hierarchies of judicial authority to administer justice to different situations. |
Composition |
Judicial systems were almost always composed of male community elders. |
